Primed to be the next group from the UK jazz underground to break out, Azamiah draw on jazz roots while touching on everything from James Blake’s production techniques to dubby low-end, taking the listener on a journey across moody and light landscapes.
At the heart of Azamiah’s music is a spirit of collaboration and authenticity. Led by the captivating vocals of India Blue, and supported by Josef Akin (keys), Norman Villeroux (bass) and Alex Palmer (drums), the group craft immersive sonic landscapes that move effortlessly between the intimate and the expansive.
Their 2023 debut album In Phases won praise from The Skinny and CLASH and received plays on BBC 6Music and NTS. A bridge between their first album and forthcoming second, their recent EP Two Lands released in May 2025 resonates with emotional honesty and is played with a fresh intensity.
The band has played on stages across the UK and Europe including Latitude Festival, Hidden Door, Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, Brick Lane Jazz Festival, JAZZMI (IT) & North Sea Round Town (NL).
With the support of the PRS Foundation and the International Showcase Fund, Azamiah have recently performed at SXSW 2026 in Austin, Texas.
